How to Know God Personally—Right Now
Let’s clear something up right away: God is not distant. He’s not hiding. He’s not waiting for you to clean up your life before He’ll talk to you. He wants to know you personally—and you can know Him right now.
This Isn’t About Religion
Religion says, “Try harder.” Jesus says, “It is finished.”
Religion gives you rules. Jesus gives you relationship.
If you’ve been burned by religion, you’re not alone. Many people in Clovis, NM, have walked away from cold tradition and empty sermons. But don’t walk away from God just because people messed it up.
You Were Created for This
The Bible says God formed you in your mother’s womb (Psalm 139). He knows your name. He sees your struggles. He knows your doubts—and He loves you anyway.
“And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.”
The Problem: Sin Separates Us
God is holy—we are not. The Bible says we’ve all sinned (Romans 3:23). Even one sin separates us from a perfect God. That’s why religion can’t fix us. Good deeds can’t erase bad ones. We’re guilty—and justice must be served.
The Solution: Jesus Took Your Place
This is the heart of the Gospel. God sent His Son, Jesus, to live a sinless life and die in your place. He took the punishment for your sins, so you wouldn’t have to. Three days later, He rose from the grave—proving He’s more than a teacher. He’s the Savior.
“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’”
So How Do You Know God?
Not by earning it. Not by being religious. You know God by repenting of sin and trusting in Jesus.
Repentance means turning away from your old life. Trust means leaning fully on what Jesus did—not your own efforts.
“God, I know I’ve sinned. I’ve tried everything but I still feel empty. I believe Jesus died for me and rose again. I turn from my sin and trust You. I want to know You, not just know about You. Save me.”
This Is Only the Beginning
If you prayed that, and meant it—you’ve just made the most important decision of your life. Welcome to the family of God.
Now it’s time to grow. That’s why we’re here. Potter’s House Clovis isn’t just a place to attend—it’s a place to belong, to learn, and to follow Jesus for real.
