Following Jesus Will Cost You Everything… But It’s Worth It (Clovis, NM Church)

Let’s get this out of the way:

Following Jesus isn’t easy.
It’s not safe.
It’s not convenient.
It’s not popular.

But it’s worth everything.

Jesus Never Hid the Cost

He didn’t say, “Add Me to your life.”
He said, “Deny yourself, take up your cross, and follow Me.” (Matthew 16:24)

This wasn’t a motivational slogan. It was a death sentence. In Jesus’ day, crosses weren’t jewelry—they were execution devices.

“Whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple.” – Luke 14:33

Jesus doesn’t want your Sundays. He wants your life.

The Gospel Isn’t a Bargain

Some churches promise prosperity, comfort, and blessing—no sacrifice required. But that’s not the gospel. That’s a counterfeit.

The real Jesus says:

  • You’ll be hated for My name.
  • You may lose friends, reputation, and even family.
  • You must count the cost—and be willing to pay it.

But He also promises:
“Whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.” (Matthew 10:39)

It Costs to Follow Jesus… But It Costs More Not To

Yes, the road is narrow. Yes, you’ll face trials. But the reward?
Eternal life. Peace with God. A clean conscience. Purpose that doesn’t fade.
And a joy the world can’t touch.

Hell costs more than holiness. Don’t trade eternity for temporary comfort.

“What does it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his soul?” – Mark 8:36

Jesus Paid Everything for You—Will You Surrender Everything to Him?

He gave His life.
He bore your sin.
He drank the wrath you deserved.
And He rose again—inviting you into a life that truly matters.
