Where Will You Spend Eternity?

It’s the one question most people try not to think about—but one that matters more than anything else in the world:

Where will you spend eternity?

We plan for retirement. We plan our careers, our families, even our vacations. But the average person spends more time picking out a phone case than they do preparing for the moment they stand before God.

Why Eternity Matters in Clovis (and Everywhere Else)

Death doesn’t play favorites. Whether you live in a big city or a quiet town like Clovis, eternity is coming for all of us. The Bible says it is appointed once for man to die, and after that, the judgment.

Hebrews 9:27 (NKJV)
“And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment.”

This isn’t fear-mongering. It’s reality. One day, your heart will stop. Your eyes will close. And you will open them standing before your Creator.

What Will God See?

We like to think God will grade on a curve. But He won’t. He’ll judge us by His perfect law. That means no lying, no stealing, no lust, no hatred, no idolatry. One sin is enough to condemn us. And friend, we’ve committed thousands.

Revelation 20:12 (NKJV)
“And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books.”

Can you imagine standing in front of a holy God with every thought, every word, and every deed laid bare? Who among us could stand?

The Good News: You Don’t Have to Be Judged Alone

This is why the Gospel is good news. God, in His mercy, sent Jesus Christ to take our judgment for us. He lived a sinless life and died on a cross, paying the price we couldn’t. Three days later, He rose from the grave—and now He offers eternal life to all who repent and believe.

John 11:25 (NKJV)
“Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.’”

Heaven or Hell—There Is No Middle Ground

We’d love to believe that good people go to heaven and bad people go to hell. But the Bible teaches something far more sobering: there are no good people. Only forgiven people.

Those who reject Christ are already condemned (John 3:18). But those who trust in Him are saved—not because of what they’ve done, but because of what Jesus did.

Where Will YOU Spend Eternity?

This isn’t a rhetorical question. This is the most important decision of your life. Don’t wait until your funeral is being planned to start thinking about eternity. It’ll be too late then.

🙏 Want to Be Sure About Eternity?
“God, I know I’m guilty. I’ve broken Your laws and deserve judgment. But I believe Jesus took my place. I turn from my sin and trust You completely. Save me. Change me. I give You my eternity.”
