Why Anger Is Deadly
The Bible warns that “the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God” (James 1:20). Anger doesn’t just damage relationships with others—it separates us from God. When we lash out, hold grudges, or let bitterness fester, we are guilty before a holy Judge.
“But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment.” — Matthew 5:22
The Root of the Problem
Anger reveals something deeper: our pride, our selfishness, and our unwillingness to forgive. We feel wronged, so we demand justice—yet we ignore how often we have wronged God. If we are honest, we deserve His judgment for our sins far more than others deserve our anger.
The Gospel’s Answer to Anger
The good news is that Jesus took the wrath we deserve. At the cross, God’s anger against sin was poured out on His Son so we could be forgiven. When you repent and trust in Christ, He not only removes your guilt but also gives you the power to forgive others. The fire of anger can finally be replaced with the peace of God.
“Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.” — Ephesians 4:31–32
